Going on Vacation

Have you ever had a bad vacation experience?

Well, I have. It has been 10 years since my husband and I went on our last vacation. That was the vacation from hell...and I didn't think he'd ever go on vacation again. In the time since then, we've only gone on day trips that were close to home. Last month, he had to take a short business trip to Indiana, and I went with him. We stumbled across this cute little town on the shore of Lake Michigan called St. Joseph. It was a beautiful, sunny day with lots of sailboats out on the lake. The town was a bit crowded however, because they were having a festival. You could have blown me away when he said he wanted to come back and spend the day and stay overnight. I made plans so fast it would make your head spin. It's only for two days, but we have to start with baby steps before we can walk faster...

I'm so excited. We're off tomorrow to St. Joseph, and we're also visiting Saugatuk (lots of small shops & galleries) on Tuesday. Oh wait, I have to go check out the net to see if there are any quilt shops along the way...Do they make a GPS with quilt shop listings???

See you later.
