Cat TV

Every couple of years, a robin decides to build a next on the light fixture above our front door.  Mama robin always gets peeved every time we drive in the yard and go anywhere near the front door.  This year, it is providing endless entertainment for the “boys”, especially since their screen porch playground is closed for renovation.  They sit there and chatter at the robin, who is not too happy about the company.  This weekend, several small mouths started popping up over the top of the nest, and worms are dangling from mama robin’s mouth.  It was a little too dark to get a picture of the nest today, but we did manage to get this picture of one very interested Redford cat watching his “cat TV”.

Mystery Solved

One of the keys to a good marriage, at least in our house, is two bathrooms. I have mine, and he has his. This morning, my husband went to his bathroom to use the shower, and had this to say:

Him: Dear, have you been in my bathroom today?

Me: Anticipating some sort of accusation since there are only two people in this house, No...

Him: You need to see this.

Me: Thinking why do I want to get up to see something in the bathroom? I reluctantly go the bathroom and see

The scale in the middle of the doorway.

What the ??

Me: I didn't move that scale. What are you thinking, I'm trying to tell you something? hmmm

Him: Oh, here's the cause as he lifts the tiny dead tree frog out of the corner where the scale usually sits.

Redford: (or Buster, we don't know) Dude, that was fun!!

Me: How in the world were they strong enough to move that scale??

Fabric is a cat magnet

I decided to take the fabric from the Shop Hop quilt and add it to my stash.

Gee, that felt good!

The minute I started laying out these fabrics, Red showed up. He likes to be in the middle everything!

This one's for Becky. This is the fabric I was considering for the back of my pinwheel quilt. It saw it with a cream background and a green background. Although I really like this fabric, it seemed to be too pastel for the pinwheel quilt. I thought that quilt needed more primary colors.

It is from Windham Fabrics and it is called Sunbonnet Sue. You can find it here.

This is the fabric I decided to use for the back of the pinwheel quilt. I think it goes well with the 30's prints. I feel a need to get this quilt done and sent to a longarmer. I will make a double border with the blue and red fabrics.

This fabric is produced by Henry Glass & Co. and is called Playtime with Bill and Sue. It is sold as a panel, and I bought a double panel for the backing. You can find the fabric here. Well, I think I'm off to put together the backing.

Ssshhhh! Don't tell anyone I'm here

See that handsome dude at the top of this blog? That's me, Robert Redford, Red for short (a/k/a Rusty). The quilter in the house doesn't know I'm here, so mum's the word. Let me tell you a little about myself. I was adopted by this family a few years ago after my parents couldn't care for me anymore. Much to my disgust, there was already another cat in the this house who thought he was king of the house. Boy, did I show him who was boss. This is what he looks like. He thinks he so cool with that grey beard. And he's lazy too, all he ever does is sleep (when he's not picking a fight with me.)

I'm the also quilt supervisor around this place. My job is to distract the quilter as much as possible, and sit on the unfinished quilt (see above). Why just last night, the quilter was working on that flying saucer from out of space, (you know, whispering, the UFO), and I decided that the tomato pin cushion needed closer inspection. Each time she wasn't looking, I kept moving it to check it out. She got mad at me and finally put everything away. I don't thinks she understands that as a quality control supervisor, I'm only checking it for structural integrity.

Anyway, the real reason I'm here is that I need your help. I've been checking out some of the other blogs and find to my surprise, I'm not the only quilt supervisor. I think I'm in love. Piwacket is her name, and here is where you can find a picture.

She's hot, I tell ya. She's H A W T!!! Don't you think she's hot? But I don't even think she knows I'm alive. She's been MIA from her blog for a few weeks now. What should I do?

Well, if I guess I'm off to take a cold shower. Or even better, if I can get into the garage I can walk all over the quilter's car and leave footprints on the windshield. Yeah, that'll cheer me up.

So long...I'll leave you with another handsome picture of ME!

(Does this picture make my butt look big?)

SMILE!
